Having graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1972, Hugh Bryden worked as an art teacher for 30 years before retiring in 2005 to concentrate on Printmaking and Artist Books. This same year he founded Roncadora Press to allow the creation of more one-off and personalised artist books. Over the years his work has been influenced by collaborations with writers and visits to Catalonia. To make this linocut, Bryden used an early nineteenth-century Columbian press which he restored during the 90s and uses to make all of his prints.
