Dreamless Water represents layering of abstract forms that suggest concern with the natural environment, planet earth's natural resources such as oil and water against a dry and rocky background.
'I have enjoyed making images for as long as I can remember. The affirmation in drawing and painting allows me to engage with the world and find space to express and consolidate value and self-worth. The images themselves evolve and vary over time but remain an outlet for feelings, thoughts and personal neuroses that hold significance. The images are drawn from a mix of contemporary influence, instinctual decisions and process-led responses. Towards the end of a work there maybe a more cerebral input where titles and ideas come in as a final layer yet the title is only one way into the image - the ideal being that the painting need be nothing more than itself and a means of thinking and discovering. It is my hope that my small visual adventures will resonate with others' - Craig Duncan
