Malcolm Hood was born in Cambuslang in 1933 and studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1952-1957. He trained as a mural designer, which led him to commissions in city churches. After moving to Fife in 1963, Malcolm had his first one man show at the Traverse Theatre Gallery in 1967. In 1984, he retired from teaching to work on a series of mountain landscapes in the West Highlands.
