“The jar is a vessel, a container of material we want to keep or preserve.
Over time the jar has come to symbolise ideas, such as spirituality or holiness, motherhood and femininity, expectancy and hope, death and regeneration.
I think of this vase as a vessel that carries a sense of self, like a self-portrait. At times is might suggest feelings of fullness or emptiness, therapeutic growth or self-containment.”
