Olwyn Bowey | Head Gardeners Beehive, Pencil & Watercolour, 1994

There is peace here in this garden. It is empty but for the gardener and the painter.

The painter seems as if wrapped in a haze of slowly moving time. I find myself sinking into the painting, just as they must have immersed themselves here that afternoon.

Just one single, beautiful afternoon that lingered for a whole summer.
