Digital Print onto fabric with embroidery embellishments
“I drew inspiration from some of Grayson Perry’s tapestries that we viewed at the art gallery. The tapestries had a lot going on in both the foreground and background, with houses and things in the sky. This served as my starting point for a drawing on my iPad of my childhood home. However, it brought back some painful memories, particularly the death of my lovely Mum. This caused me to reflect on my life as a whole and how traumatic events had affected me. There were times where my life felt like a maelstrom guarded by dementors. Fortunately, I have four friends, or “Magpies”, who have been supportive of me. Despite the difficulties, I have been able to find happiness. I have a wonderful husband, two beautiful daughters, and a new little kitten.”
