We Stand Alone (Artwork 1 piece 1)
Acrylic Paint and Glitter
“The tree is symbolic of strength in the face of adversity. Even though the tree has been wind-swept it still shines, it still stands, not yet completely broken, but quite worn out.
I wanted to show that even though the leaves have blown off the tree, they have collected together to make the bowl underneath – collecting the still worthy parts (of our lives) into something else, something which can be reinvented, useful, amazing at times.
The idea of the leaves forming together is loosely based on “Kinsugi” where instead of the gold paint and glue sticking the pieces together it is the leaves themselves meshing together.
I’d like to invite you to draw your own interpretation from the art as everyone’s story is different.
What part does the moon, tree, colours, leaves, bowl play for you ?”
