Joppa Viewpoint
Pastels
I hear the sunset song
As the warm day turns into night.
The pandemic is still here!
Is it Fear or Flight?
I see the golden mighty Orb
Dip beneath the darkling sky
Leaving its eternal message
-day follows night, on that we can rely.
I feel the wind dancing with my hair
Chasing the clouds, waves and buoys
The new dawning promise
Of Hope, of Life of JOY.
I touch the stones beneath my feet
The Joppa sky is now sparkling black,
With necklaces of prom streetlight pearls.
Nature’s promise – we’ll never be in the DARK.
Skye’s The Limit
Pastels
I was in Skye at the cusp of the tourist season with my guide helper, in the first week of March, just before lockdown. There was no shortage of supplies in the shops and the Island was unsullied by COVID 19.
When watching the snow covered mountains
Flash by,
The bus was surely taking us to a fairyland,
A mystical magical tour.
What awaits?……..
As we tour through the spellbinding, eerily beautiful Isle of Skye.
Leaving the stern stone buildings and the bustling
City life;
We breathe a sigh of relief, ESCAPE from the encroaching
Pandemic that first week back on March.
What awaits?………..
As we admire, absorb and reflect on Nature’s Beauty….
Without strife.
Thinking of what is important, how small against Nature
We stand.
Never to forget how to respect, love and live with Nature
And have Life.
What awaits?………
When we board that bus back to where reality is so different from….
This island.
