Portobello Beach
Pastel
I’ve never worked with pastels before and the route between Seafield and Kings Road was my daily walk during lockdown as I was shielding. That part of the beach was hauntingly quiet and so beautiful at sunset.
Candleless Jars
Glass Painting
I gave people who impacted my life during lockdown each a jar and a copy of the poem as a form of meditation and gratitude for how they have impacted my life, either as friend or support helper.
Candleless Jar
I give you this jar as a gift of friendship,
An acknowledgement of our co-existence
On this dark and difficult journey
through this dangerous and unprecedented time.
This jar is a gift of hope, and cheer bringing us all the Light to guide us
through a tunnel of darkness
This jar unites us altogether.
The sharing of thoughts, feelings and kindly experiences during
‘Lockdown’ along with showing gratitude as we begin to ‘see’
Light at the end of the tunnel,
is so precious
Your Health
Your Happiness
Your Hopes for the Future
The jar is a symbol of interconnecting friendships and relationships linked to myself.
Let’s look forward to sharing happy memories in the future
Let’s acknowledge the Candle in our Hearts which is symbolic in your jar.
Love from Anne
Fishbowls
Papier-mâché and paint
A metaphor for swimming about in the ‘sea of life’ during lockdown, and a play on words (fish swim in a glass bowl) I have made dishes out of papier-mâché – all is not as it seems, parodying statements issued in the media regards the virus.
