Parenting across Scotland - Art in Healthcare

Last week Iona, our Associate Director (Communities) met with Arran and Amy from Parenting Across Scotland who wanted to find out more about the work that we do and feature us in their monthly blog “Out and about in Edinburgh!” which you can visit on their website

The blog also details how we recently provided artworks for Parenting Across Scotland’s office space. Parenting Across Scotland is a network of charities which offer support to children and families in Scotland. Their vision is “A Scotland where all parents and families are valued and supported to give children the best start in life”. We chose works by the artist Emily Learmont which were commissioned as part of a Children’s Project. Learmont worked with a group of children in hospital to find out what kind of art they wanted to see. The artist details how “I listened to the children’s ideas about their favourite places and activities and incorporated these in my paintings”.
