Back in March 2022 Rowan joined us as Collection Assistant as part of the Kickstart Scheme. The opportunity was possible because of a partnership with Museums Galleries Scotland [MGS] who were themselves participating in the Kickstart Scheme [a UK Government funded initiative that provided funding to create new job placements for 16-24 year olds who were on Universal Credit]. Like MGS, we saw Kickstart as a way to support youth employability in challenging times.
We’ve really enjoyed having Rowan as part of the team. Working with the full team, and particularly Margaret our Curator, Rowan has undertaken a wide range of tasks to support collection management. Much time was spent at our store, getting to know the collection, undertaking research and supporting the logistics of exhibition installation.
