"In approaching this commission, I wanted to convey the feelings, sensations and some of the sights one might chance upon when ambling along the banks of the River Leith. The idea of leaves gently floating down stream immediately came to mind, and I created the short poem to help convey some of the uniqueness of that experience. The design contains abstract images of some of the animal life along the river bank including Roe Deer, Heron, Kingfisher, Squirrel, and Fresh Water Trout. The interplay of text with transparency, reflection and colour help to create a life affirming three dimensional poem."

Derek Hunt has been designing architectural glass installations for over twenty five years and his commissioned schemes can be found in many public spaces in Britain.
