This large felt piece was inspired by doodles the artist made while on the telephone to her boyfriend. A collection of words are woven into the tapestry - 'happy, relieved, wondering, fool' - some forwards some backwards. However, these words are almost indistinguishable from other non-textual forms and notations surrounding them. The overall effect is a lively graphic design reminiscent of buzzing insects or hieroglyphics.

It is a very tactile looking piece - one wishes to reach out and feel the warm softness of the pink felt material. The Perspex enclosure around the piece may thus provide protection to the inherent intimacy of the work - a private event taking place between two people.

Fiona Munro graduated in Drawing and Painting (Tapestry) from Edinburgh College of Art in 2000 and her felt work has appeared in many exhibitions.
